Lechleitner Symerald from Austria. 1 Piece. In the 1960ies Johann Lechleitner of Innsbruck, Tyrol, Austria, was the first to hydrothermally produce synthetic emeralds by overgrowing seed crystals of natural beryl with synthetic material. The stones were marketed under the names "Symerald" and "Emerita". In this specimen from an early generation remnants of the seed crystal can be seen.
